Today Panchang/panchang 2021

Panchang is the traditional Hindu calendar which holds great importance in Vedic Astrology. The Hindu Panchang has been used in India for thousands of years. You can use Panchang to select an auspicious date or time for your important work. It’s difficult to select a Mahurat without a Panchang.

At Astro Anand Sharma you can easily find ‘Aaj ka Panchang’ based on which you can select a good mahurat for your particular activity. These activities include marriage, shifting to a new house, buying a new vehicle, starting a new education, laying the foundation of a building, etc.

Panchang is a Sanskrit word meaning Five Limbs. These five limbs represent five sources of energy, visible and invisible, as denoted by these segments in a day. Location, Time Zone, Time and Date etc. are very important in determining the accurate Panchang for a particular day. Panchangam refers to the five attributes of the day - Tithi (lunar day), Yoga (luni-solar day), Vara (weekday), Nakshatra (constellation), and Karana (half of a lunar day). The most appropriate time which ensures proper balance of the five attributes is known as Muhurtham or Muhurat.

Let’s see what these five sources of energy signify while determining an auspicious date and time of the day:

Nakshatra: According to Vedic Astrology, there are 27 Nakshatras. Each Nakshatra is considered good for a particular activity Each Nakshatra has 13 degrees and 20 minutes on the 360-degree zodiac and is effective for around a day.

Tithi: There are 16 different Tithis. Purnima and Amavasya occur once every month. Other Tithis occur two times a month. These are Pratipada, Dwitiya, Tritiya, Chaturthi, Panchami, Shashti, Saptami, Ashtami, Navami, Dashami, Ekadashi, Dwadashi, Trayodashi and Chaturdashi. Purnima is considered the 15th Tithi and Amavasya are considered the 30th Tithi.

Yog: There are in all 27 Yogas. These Yogas can be both auspicious and inauspicious. The name of each Yog reflects whether it’s lucky or unlucky. Out of the 27 Yogas, 9 Yogas are unlucky.
